The inspiring documentary ”Conquering Kili - Why I Climbed to the Roof of Africa” by Catalyst Communications Group Founder and CEO Preston Rudie has been named a finalist at the prestigious 2025 Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF). The film, which chronicles an unforgettable journey to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro via the challenging Western Breach route, will be showcased among some of the best independent films of the year.

Directed, written, shot and produced by Rudie and edited by Catalyst’s Gene Yagle, “Conquering Kili” captures the physical and emotional trials of the ascent while exploring the deeper motivations behind the climb. The documentary highlights perseverance, personal growth, and the breathtaking beauty of Africa’s highest peak.

“We are deeply honored that “Conquering Kili” has been recognized as a finalist at Gasparilla,” said Rudie. “This film is more than just a mountain adventure— it’s a story of resilience, purpose, and the drive to push beyond our limits. We’re excited to share this journey with audiences at GIFF.”
